A Red Letter Day

Dear Brian,

Congratulations! On behalf of our faculty, staff, and students, I am pleased to offer you admission to Iowa State University.

Welcome to the Iowa State family!

Sincerely,
Marc L. Harding
Director of Admissions

Ok, there was more in the letter than that, but those parts were all I needed to shout "Yippie Kai-Eh!"

Now that my college quest is over, I'd decided it's time for me to get back on track with my studies. Some classes I'm lacking in more than others. Calculus is a pain. I can only enjoy math to a certain extent until it gets to near-impossible to understand.

Band concert tonight was a close call. Concert band was pretty nice. Wind Ensemble blew me away. I've never heard a more professional sounding ensemble (except the London Symphony Orchestra). Symphonic band was on the edge our last song (Lord of the Dance, anybody?). I was really scared. However, we pulled through and I really hope Propes doesn't hurt us too much tomorrow.

On a more nerve-wrecking note, my last speech/debate is this Thursday over the Tort Reform and I have to be prepared to rebuttal either side of the case. Lord have mercy on me. Also, it wouldn't hurt me too much to work harder on my Calculus studies, seeing as math is going to be one of my major courses in college, so I'd better learn it or get out!

Plans for this week:

  • Research Tort Reform - know everything there is to know about "tort" or anything that applies to it, including the possible relevance of conceptual physics and bio-technological research.
  • Calculus - work extremely hard on all assignments and keep praying that my quiz score is better than my current grade.
  • Finals - might as well get a head start. Two weeks left of school!

And I'll leave it to Justin to leave any final words in the comments section.
